SAP’s Global Licensing organization is responsible for partnering with third parties to acquire rights to use and integrate third-party IP (software, web/cloud services, content, etc.) into SAP products and solutions in accordance with SAP product licensing standards; managing the lifecycle of third-party agreements; ensuring SAP’s compliance with third party requirements; and approving third-party IP usage in SAP products and solutions per negotiated terms. We work in close cooperation with SAP development and product lines of business, Legal, global support, controlling, partner organizations, field areas, etc.


In short, we help to enable and expedite amazing SAP products and services.


THE OPPORTUNITY

This role will support Global Licensing’s Inbound Licensing efforts, including support and lead of contract negotiations with external partners and providing support for our internal stakeholders in Board areas of GFA, Customer Success, Product Engineering and Technology & Innovation. There will also be initiatives and projects to improve, simplify and standardize the existing processes in the Inbound Licensing team


This position will report to the Team Lead for Inbound Licensing (HR reporting line into Head of Global Licensing).


EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Specific tasks may include the following:

  • Negotiation of third-party agreements, which includes providing templates to potential partners, providing clarifications, aligning internal teams and responses
  • Provide guidance regarding the Inbound Licensing related processes and policies
  • Prepare & present approval requests and risk evaluations and mitigation plans in cooperation with other stakeholders
  • Coordination and execution of special and complex ad-hoc tasks
  • Managing contracts, which includes drafting and executing amendments for various reasons, handling terminations, renewals etc. Taking over contract management responsibility for several existing partner agreements
  • Support of partners with general contract administration topics
  • Supporting defined projects in Global Licensing, taking over work packages and workstreams


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Desired skills and characteristics

  • Project management experience
  • Contract drafting/negotiation experience
  • Familiarity with licensing, contracts, risk assessment and compliance
  • Experience within Finance roles would be a big plus
  • High service attitude, while making no compromises on compliance
  • Ability to think proactively and create pragmatic solutions
  • Good analytical skills
  • High level of ownership, responsibility, motivation, and drive
  • Be a flexible team player able to deal with transition and change
  • Being able to work independently
  • Open for new topics and assignments
  • Good written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Strong networking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
